Learn to identify which herbs make the best teas and their various uses, then take a stroll through Joey and Jesse's Herb Garden to respectfully harvest with local forager and neuroscientist Crystal Jewell. Come back inside to process the herbs you collected, and enjoy various brews with a small tea party.

Foraging for Beginners: Brookside Park Walk & ID
Reiman Gardens has partnered with the Ames Parks & Recreation for this off-site edible plant walk led by local forager and neuroscientist Crystal Jewell.
Participants will meet Crystal at the park entrance, and walk through various accessible areas, paying particular attention to using your senses and context clues to identify edible plants with a discussion of best practices and responsible harvesting.

Perfect for all skill levels, whether you're new to foraging or a practiced picker. Program includes a tasting of tea made from foraged plants.
